THE OPPORTUNITY

This is an opportunity to play a pivotal role in shaping the company’s growth and success. The CRO will have the ability to influence company strategy and make a significant business impact. They will focus on revenue growth and strategy development, building and leading an effective sales team, and client relationship management and expansion. The ideal candidate is a sales and marketing leader with past experience selling at a high level.

This position reports to the CEO and has 5 direct reports.

JOB DEFINITION

The Chief Revenue Officer (CRO) will be the senior executive responsible for developing and executing the company’s unified revenue strategy and instilling scalable growth initiatives across all service offerings. They will oversee all revenue-generating departments, including sales, marketing, business development, and customer success. They will align revenue-related functions to maximize profitability and market share in both onshore and offshore markets and develop and implement strategies to expand the client base and drive business growth.

Summary of Key Responsibilities:

The Chief Revenue Officer (CRO) will be tasked with overseeing the company’s entire revenue generation and developing growth strategies across all service offerings.

  • Develop and execute a unified and comprehensive revenue growth strategy/roadmap.
  • Design and implement sales and operational structures that scale without sacrificing quality or margin.
  • Oversee sales, marketing, and business development activities.
  • Identify and capitalize on new market opportunities and client segments.
  • Establish and maintain strategic partnerships and alliances.
  • Monitor and report revenue metrics and adjust strategies to meet financial targets.
  • Drive customer acquisition, retention, and satisfaction initiatives.
  • Collaborate with other executives to align revenue goals with overall company objectives.
  • Sales and marketing budget creation, oversight, and reporting
  • Revenue forecasting and target setting
  • Determine resource allocation for client success and retention.
  • Strategic investment in technology and tools that will enable the sales and marketing teams to operate efficiently.

 

Leadership and Management:

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing revenue team.
  • Recruit A-player level salespeople.
  • Foster a culture focused on achieving and exceeding revenue targets.
  • Support the sales team in closing large deals.
  • Allocate the budget to recruit top sales talent and provide continuous training and development.
  • Communicate revenue goals, strategies, and progress to stakeholders.
  • Align cross-functional teams for cohesive execution of revenue strategies, working closely with the delivery and product teams.

BACKGROUND EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in senior revenue, sales, or marketing leadership roles within the B2B software engineering or IT services industry. Proven track record of driving revenue growth.
  • Onshore/offshore service model experience is a plus.
  • Technical Acumen: Strong understanding of application services, data analytics and AI, cloud computing, IoT, and digital transformation consulting.
  • Solid understanding of the .NET stack.
  • Demonstrated history of building and scaling teams.
  • Analytical Skills: Proficiency in data analysis, financial modeling, and using CRM and analytics tools to drive decision-making.
  • Strong leadership and cross-functional team management skills.
  • A track record of success in sales and exceeding quotas.
  • Excellent client relationship management and account growth skills.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal abilities.
  • Strategic Mindset: Strong strategic planning skills with the ability to analyze complex market dynamics and translate them into actionable strategies.
  • Exposure to international markets and diverse cultural management experiences.
  • Adaptability: Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing market conditions and technological advancements.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required for client meetings, conferences, and team coordination.

 

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or a related field; master’s preferred.
