I was referred by a friend of mine to them for an executive position they were working on. I spent about an several hours on the phone with one of the Directors of Executive Recruitment, and the time she took to explain the position, explore my background and discuss what the process was allowed me to make a fully informed decision on whether I wanted to pursue this path or not. I did, and the next step was something I hadn’t experienced before, which was a very thorough background questionnaire; by this time, I understood how serious HH&A was on truly finding a candidate that fit well into the fabric of the company, and not just in the position. This was further reinforced in the second-round of interviews with the Lead Consultant, and the honesty, intelligence and candid approach he exhibited while exploring my background and discussing the needs of his client was a testament to how seriously they take their responsibility to put the right candidate into the right company. I was given a chance to present my story to the client in written form, which took the focus off the resume and allowed them to see my personality as well as my skills. The in-person interviews were extensive, and actually the Lead Consultant was more of a coach and facilitator to both parties, with the goal of making sure we were both asking the questions that allowed us to decide if moving forward would be mutually beneficial. There were so many interactions, and the HH&A team was so involved every step of the way, that every question I had was addressed. I completely understood what I was getting involved in, and so did their client.
I’m sure the HH&A team didn’t have to build this thorough of a process to make a profitable business, as evidenced by the plethora of other recruiting firms out there who don’t do this, but I’m glad they did…Because they did what few others have, and that is actually earned my friendship. To this day, long after the last interview, I can still reach out any of the team with any questions I have, or seeking advice, and I always receive a warm response.

Let me just add too that the people at HH&A are also great at the fundamentals. They timely and effectively communicate with you throughout the entire process. They know the companies they work with and help candidates understand them as well. The company insights you receive are perceptive and the feedback provided to you is thorough, direct and respectful. They made what could otherwise be a stressful process, very comfortable.
