It was extremely benefical to be able to see both aspects and just how thorough they are in finding the absolute best candidate.
As a candidate, the quality I respected the most was their authenticity. When I was not selected, the lead consultant informed me exactly why in a very timely manner and did not mince words. The lead consultant stayed in touch with me and soon became a mentor and confidant with career advice. There was a time that I was at a point of desperation after making an emotional decision to leave a large company. The lead consultant that stayed in touch with, coached me on not lessoning my worth. Eventually our paths crossed again in relation to a search and this time, I was awarded the position. This is something I will never forget, nor will I ever shy away from in telling my experience.
As the client, I then was greanted the opportunity to witness how they funnel down the host of candidates and ensure they gather the absolute best to present to the company. This highlights their diligence, but it is also so rewarding on multiple levels. The main one in our case is that we had options. The ranking of candidates is not simple 1-5 for example, but mor like 1, 1a, 1b, etc. Although it makes the decision process difficult, it can be a blessing in disguise. Our situation was that our first choice decided not to join our team, but with candidate rankings, our search did not have to restart.
As a recruiting firm, I find it hard to comprehend that there is anyone stronger than HH&A. And as human beings, the team at HH&A is the finest I have ever had the pleasure of forming a relationship and partnership with.
